Three habits that actually move the needle
Run the fan for 20 minutes after every shower, not just during it. Moisture lingers in the air well after the water's off. If your fan is original to the house and the bathroom feels humid an hour later, it's likely undersized — this is one of the most common findings on our inspections.
Leave the shower door or curtain open after use so trapped humid air can escape into the room rather than sitting against tile and drywall.
Re-caulk every 1–2 years, especially where the tub meets the wall. Cracked or peeling caulk is one of the fastest paths for water to reach the wall cavity, and it's inexpensive to fix proactively versus after the fact.
